Lake and Morris
Roots Americana
Ryan Lake and Lauren Morris crossed paths some time ago as seasonal hands and hired guns. Insatiable free spirits both, always working here and there but playing music to feed their souls whenever life would allow it. Finally in the fall of 2020 deep in the heart of Texas, Morris (fiddle, vocals) and Lake (guitar, vocals) started playing and sharing songs together, while working at a festival. Harmony singing and fiddle tunes quickly began to shape their style together and are at the heart of Lake and Morris’ sound. Ryan Lake, having been a lifelong songwriter and musician, eagerly lended some of his songs and with a few traditional covers Lake and Morris’ first release was born in March of 2021.
Now entering their fifth year of playing dive bars and working odd jobs together, Lake and Morris has been blessed with the tremendous opportunity to record live in the studio at Big Finger Records in St. Louis. Under the knowledgeable and gifted hands of Grammy award winning engineer Don Bailey, Lake and Morris’ new album embodies years of real life musicianship with blood sweat and tears.
